Who We Are

Designer Lisa Krizner-George has been surrounded by the craft of dressmaking her entire life, first as a shared experience between the generations of women in her family, later as a pursuit of creative expression, whether in the course of her Broadway costuming work, or simply out of a wish to make something beautiful.  Le Studio Violetta arose from her desire to create clothing worthy of memories. Having earned her B.A. from the Rodgers and Silverman School of Fashion Design and Merchandising, Lisa began applying her craft at an upscale Cleveland Boutique, as a design assistant working on eveningwear and vintage clothing.

She moved to New York in the 90s, seeking fresh techniques and ideas about design. She found them as a Broadway costume draper-working side-by-side with top designers to bring finished costumes to life from their sketches.  For more than a decade, she built her talents on shows including The Producers (both Broadway and film), Wicked, Spamalot, Hairspray, Mamma Mia!,  42nd Street, The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Music Man, and Funny Girl. Her work extends beyond Broadway, however. Lisa also created costumes for the American Ballet Theater, New York City Ballet, Pittsburgh Ballet, worked as a draper for The Metropolitan Opera, and served as an adjunct professor at Montclair State University in the Department of Theater and Dance.

Her work on Broadway refined her focus, letting her find the balance between pageantry and intricate craftsmanship that she now brings back to bridal wear and fashion.  Her designs are created for individuals and for celebration—one, highly personalized celebration—with fine detailing and workmanship that transform a dress into an heirloom.  They are garments that speak of love... the emotion of your wedding day or special occasion and the deliberate care with which she creates each and every piece.
